BREAK THE FAST

Breakfast.. the most important meal of the day! Are you one of those people who think skipping breakfast is a good way to lose those kg's? Well think again! Here are some important reasons why you should eat breakfast every single morning.
Break-the-fast (breakfast)
Your body's metabolic rate slows right down after not eating for hours and hours while you sleep. When you wake up and eat breakfast your also waking up your metabolism and starting up your body to begin burning those calories!
 
Researchers have repeatedly shown that people who eat breakfast have a better chance of losing weight, and keeping it off. If you skip breakfast, by lunch time you are so hungry you end up eating a lot more than you usually would. Am I right? 
Skipping meals causes your body to go into fasting mode which will increase your insulin response.. and when that happens it will cause your body to store fat.
 
Eating breakfast will also help with your energy levels during the day. Fill up on some complex carbs to keep your energy levels up.
My favorite breakfast is a nice big bowl of Oats with berries, yoghurt, nuts or anything I can find to put on top that is tasty and nutritious! I sometimes have a piece of toast and an egg on the side too. (this is my biggest meal of the day)
 
If it Says, "Nutritious" it Doesn’t Necessarily Mean it’s Healthy So many cereals will tell you how nutritious they are but don't be fooled! Make sure you read the nutritional information and steer away from anything packed full of sugar.
 
What's in my breakfast bowls?
My favourite thing to eat in the morning is a great big bowl of oats! What I add;
- Strawberries, Blueberries, Dates
- Sugar free maple syrup (Brand: Queen) 
- Chobani Zero Fat Natural Yoghurt
- Cinnamon
- Flax seeds, almond flakes, chia seeds
